Braided Heart Bun

Happy Mardi Gras and Valentine's Day Week!  This week is going to have a heart theme, I hope you enjoy.

So, today start by parting the hair in half, clip half to the side.  For the remaining half, section out the lower half of the hair, start your part above the ear, clip it aside.  With the remaining half you are going to make a basic braid.  Remember to start your braid by weaving under.  This locks the start of the braid in place.  After you have secured this braid with an elastic. Make another basic braid on the other side of the head with only the top quarter of the hair, similar to the first braid.

When you have both braids secured, take one braid and start to form a braided bun, but instead of wrapping the braid around itself, after one wrap down and toward the outside of the head. Use bobby pins to secure both braids in a demi-heart shape.  Pin the braid end under the braids.  If your heart halves don't line up and touch each other you can use bobby pins to slightly move, or scoot, the halves together.  When you are happy, use hair spray to set.  For this style you may not need the hair spray, but if you have a busy day and want the 'do' to last till 8pm you might want it.
 Time: 10-15 minutes
